Parking and Directions

Metered parking is available in the underground lot at Metlox Plaza.  Entrances to the parking garage are via either N. Valley Drive just past the Shade Hotel or via Morningside Drive (not listed on this map – see the blue arrow).  If you are arriving via Manhattan Beach Blvd you should turn right on Morningside Dr. (Pasta Pomodoro is on the corner). The parking garage entrance is on your right, about halfway down the block.  13th Street is closed on Tuesdays for the Farmer’s Market from Morningside Drive to Valley Drive.

NOTE:  4 hour parking is only available on the lower (3rd) level. Parking on the upper levels is for 2 hours or less.

There is an interactive parking map at

To find the library, you will need to exit the Metlox parking garage via the escalator. Turn hard right (U-turn) and walk across the plaza behind the Shade Hotel toward the Farmer’s Market (red arrow).  You will see a set of steps leading up to the Civic Center plaza. Take the stairs to the plaza. The library is the brick building on the left, with the white mansard roof. The meeting room is on the left as you enter the library.

If you arrive early for lunch, there are a variety of choices in Metlox PLaza, along Highland Avenue and along Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
